Alleyways are uncommon in Portland, so we took an opportunity to incorporate one into this 567 sq ft backyard ADU. We situated this ADU so it engages with both the yard and the alleyway behind it, turning the oft-neglected alley into a community space. With an open floorplan, large patio and plenty of windows, this unit is as perfect for a backyard party as it is for a quiet evening in.
